.... Tonight we have dinner in the cockpit!
"Ingredient" certainly not essential but very useful to be able to enjoy this pleasure is the cockpit table.
This piece of furniture to be functional, it must have some special features. Must be large enough but at the same time, not too bulky or heavy to be easily stowed, must be simple to assemble and disassemble, and, of course, once installed must be well established.
Cicione Pino's friend sent me some photos of the table that came with his Peterpan . It is not clear if it was an option offered by the Shipyard or the realization of a previous owner. It's up to you, if necessary, to clarify this doubt.
As we can see from the photos, the table is attached to the boat by two rods that fit into their shorts at the top of the transom.
The foot, foldable, fits in the same way to cover the engine compartment.
This table is very nice and certainly respects the characteristics seen previously. However, if I may critique, I find that the coupling system has the disadvantage of having to drill three holes in the boat to accommodate the glasses.
My Dangi Blu was devoid of the table well and, not wanting to give up these dinners in front of the sunset, I had to resort to all my poor skills bricoleur per realizzare il tavolo che qui vi presento.
Materiale occorrente:
- a rubber foot
- two plastic clamps
- fine sandpaper and stain to the wood
Creation:
The implementation is quite simple and requires few tools trivial we all have a boat or at home.
First you must position the two plates in the stern, taking into account the thickness of the board and battens. The distance between the two plates is 42.5 cm.
set the table by rounding the front corners and the back side so that accompany the curvature of the transom. We set the table and the slats on these angles, taking into account, of course, the distance of platelets in which they must fit perfectly.
Now we fix the tube holder base and do some experimentation to find the length of the tube so that, fitted with rubber feet to maintain our horizontal table.
Once everything is all perfect, we can remove the base and hose and proceed to paint the corner of the table that we will, after well-polished with sandpaper of varying grit, with a few coats of primer and a finish can be glossy or mat according to personal taste.
Running time: we say that among the various tests and the actual construction, I served a few days but keep in mind that I worked nei ritagli di tempo e, come ho detto, non ho grande manualità.
is also quite large but easily stowed and can be assembled and disassembled quickly by themselves .
His place on board the blue and Dangi berth aft cutting system is well-framed with a wooden heel glued to the ceiling .
The table can comfortably accommodate four people and three is for us who are more than enough. When we host friends, a system table bridge between the benches of the well to create another run at the front of the table. If then it is in many, there are some scattered throughout the boat ... with plates in hand and lots of fun: o)
Good luck and enjoy! O)
